“It’s why we found each other when we were young. We’ve always been connected.”
At first I thought this girl is crazy. She suffered a great loss and now she needs some serious help but when I started to realize what’s going on I felt so bad for her. Through the lies and deception, she lost a part of herself. I fell in love with this book in minutes.
The Writing Style. (5 / 5)
“The sweetness of lavender perfumes the air. Dappled sunlight shines through a canopy of tress, throwing spots of light on the ground.”
This was amazingly written. It’s sophisticated and there’s no baby talk like I call it. The Author is a talented writer. I got lost in a world so beautifully describe. (I ate, slept and drowned in every last word.) There were no problems with this read. I loved the flow and basically swept through it like a hungry child wanting more. Well done.
The World (5 / 5)
It all started out normal. An old town nestled at the heart of the Atlantic Ocean. (You can literally smell the saltiness in the air.) As we progress we learn that there’s a parallel universe beneath and beyond the mortal one. The Celtic Gods was force underground and so older generations believed they were Fea but they are totally different mystical specie. Those who live in the Underworld where light and darkness can be found are eternally young but can die in the mortal world.
Epic Reads posted a blog post about books according to your Astrology sign and they weren’t far from wrong when they said Pisces love parallel universes.
The Plot. (5 / 5)
Layla and Max were born to be together but their downfall will bring peace to their world. Will you give up your life for the one you love in order to safe your entire race? Cursed to be each other’s destruction, they have to make the hardest decision of their life; risk everything to be together or stay apart.
I loved the plot and I don’t really want to elaborate because I’m afraid to give it all away.
The Characters. (5 / 5)
Layla / Teine.
Layla thinks she is clinically insane and that her childhood was only a fraction of her imagination. When she first sees Max (Her childhood friend she thought she made up.) she passes out, it was so sweet. (Try to explain that to your Boyfriend who happens to be standing next to you.) It takes a lot to convince her that he’s real. (I laughed so hard, my Fiancé wanted to know what’s happening.)
The sexual tension between Max and Layla is enough to crank down the AC a few degrees. Layla has been lied to all her life for her protection but it ends up being too much for her to handle. The heartache, the betrayal and the whole world’s problems were laid on her shoulders all at once.
Layla is a special type of girl and you just have to read to book to find out why because I’m not saying anything more.
Max.
Max is a direct descendant of the Celtic gods. He has special abilities like manipulating wind. He is practically the last of his race. He always watches over Layla and is so protective but they can’t be together. Their Love is so powerful it creates an energy that basically sends Hell’s henchmen after it. Everyone either wants it or wants to stop it. They can’t fight the attraction they have towards each other and that releases hell upon their love.
The Smaller things.
In the end I had to get some tissues because I thought hell this is it, it’s over. The emotion the Author provokes with her writing is amazing. This book is surely one of my favorite reads. It’s not a new book but it’s worth every reader’s time.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves forbidden love, Irish Gods, Fea, the dammed and curses.
Actually I recommend this book to everyone.
The Blurb.
“Captivating, Amazing and Excellent. Get ready to be lost in a world of forbidden love.”
